South-western Sydney
South-western Sydney

South-western Sydney is a general term which is used to describe the metropolitan area in south-west Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Greater Western Sydney area.

The region has a number of definitions. Sometimes it is used only to refer to the areas around the suburbs of Liverpool and Campbelltown. It is also used increasingly to refer to the Macarthur region which includes the local government areas of Camden Council, Campbelltown City Council and Wollondilly Shire Council.

However, the term can also be used to refer to the whole area from the inner south-west suburbs around Canterbury and Bankstown to the outer south-west suburbs around Campbelltown and beyond to Camden.

Therefore, South-western Sydney can be used broadly to describe the suburbs found in the local government areas of the City of Canterbury, City of Bankstown, City of Liverpool, City of Campbelltown, Camden Council and Wollondilly Shire Council.
