This is a list of islands of the United States, as ordered by area. It includes all islands with an area greater than 20 square miles (approximately 32 km²), but excludes peninsulas such as Cape Cod, Copper Island, or Delmarva Peninsula that were originally connected to the mainland, but have been effectively transformed into islands by the building of canals.
